New TrusteesLancaster Seminary is pleased to announce that the following individuals have been elected to serve on the Board of Trustees beginning April 2010: Ralph H. France, II ![]() Mr. France (pictured on right) was a private practice attorney in Hagerstown, Maryland, from 1969 to 1989 when he became the first full-time attorney for Washington County doing civil litigation. In 1994 he became a district judge. Although he officially retired in 2009, he still serves on the bench several times a month. Mr. France is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College and the University of Maryland School of Law. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1966-1969 and remained in the reserves for 27 years. Mr. France is a member of Zion Reformed United Church of Christ, Hagerstown, where he served as a member of the consistory. He was a member of the board of directors of the Central Atlantic Conference for ten years, serving as vice president and then president. He was also a member of the Catoctin Association Council. Currently, he is a member of the search committee for the associate general minister for the Office of General Ministries and has been nominated to serve on the nominating committee for General Synod. Mr. France and his wife, Carol, reside in Hagerstown and have three adult children and three grandchildren. Scott A. Shuck Mr. Shuck (pictured on left) is the chief financial officer for Sageworth Trust Company where he is responsible for all matters relating to Sageworth’s finances and administration. He is a graduate of Elizabethtown College and is a certified public accountant. He serves on the board of directors of Cerrado Abstract, a Pennsylvania title insurance company. Prior to joining Sageworth, Mr. Shuck was president and CFO of Country Market Nursery, with locations in Mechanicsburg and Hummelstown. Previous positions include director of commissions for an industry leading brokerage agency, and senior auditor with Coopers and Lybrand, LLP. Mr. Shuck is actively involved in the Elizabethtown Kiwanis Club, where he has served as president, vice president, and treasurer. He is also involved with his church, St. Paul’s United Methodist, Elizabethtown, where he serves on the finance committee and is chairperson of the administrative board. Mr. Shuck is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and the Fiduciary & Investment Risk Management Association. He and his wife, Angela, reside in Elizabethtown with their three young children. |
