Gifts of Stock
When deciding to make a gift with securities, it is important to remember the following: When funding a gift with appreciated securities, transfer them to the seminary for sale. In this way, you will not incur a capital gains penalty. If you are funding a gift with depreciated securities, sell them first and make the donation to the seminary in cash. By so doing, the loss on the securities can be deducted on your federal income tax return.

Planned Gifts
The task of Lancaster Seminary’s planned giving program is to develop the long-term financial health of the school while aiding its alumni/ae and friends to express their charitable wishes in a manner that fits most comfortably with their current and long-range financial plans. There are several vehicles available for making gifts of future provision.
