Each year, Lancaster Seminary welcomes members of UCC Committees on Church & Ministry and other judicatory leaders to campus for insightful learning and substantive conversations about the important roles served by these committees.
The UCC's MESA (Ministerial Excellence, Support and Authorization) team will be involved with the convocation program. We welcome participants from the Central Atlantic Conference, Penn West Conference, Penn Central Conference, Pennsylvania Southeast Conference, New York Conference, and Southern Conference.
Thanks to a generous grant from the Association of Theological Schools and to encourage more committee attendance, we are offering a special subsidized rate of $50 per person (this includes lunch and dinner on Monday, and breakfast and lunch on Tuesday).
We will unveil a proposal for a new educational program that would integrate the Pennsylvania Academy of Ministry into the offerings at Lancaster Theological Seminary. The proposed program is designed for people in licensed ministry positions, lay leadership positions, or those who are preparing for Master of Divinity or Master of Arts in Ministry & Leadership degrees. We will explore how this new program fits with new mandates from the national setting of the UCC in the newly revised Manual on Ministry, as well as how the new Manual on Ministry changes the work of conference Committees on Ministry.
