The Seminary's Church & Ministry Consultation will convene Monday, October 13, 2014, at 9:00 a.m., and concludes Tuesday, Oct. 14 at noon. The program will take place in the Hafer Center on the second floor of the Schaff Library on campus. The program fee is $125 per person, including lunch and dinner on Monday, a box lunch on Tuesday, and daily hospitality. Lodging is separate. Click here for a list of hotel options.
The consultation will consider the realities of funding theological education in the 21st century and discuss creative strategies for supporting an educated clergy, including addressing the issue of seminary student debt.
We will address concerns relating to the state of funding for seminarians in theological education, the consequences of our commitment to funding, and salary levels within the denomination, and we will strategize together about how the church can address these concerns.
