Racial Justice Institute Part One
Wednesday, December 5 through Friday, December 7, 2018
8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. each day
Part One is required before taking Part Two. The workship will provide participants with a common understanding of racism, and a foundation for beginning to dismantle the institutional and systemic racism that pervades the institutions and organizations in our lives.
Participants will be equipped with a better understanding of the separate experiences, work, and responsibilities of people of color or white people. They will be introduced to a fundamental anti-racist, multicultural, organizational/institutional analysis model and leave the institute with a tangible plan of action for themselves and/or their “change team.”
Participants work through journals, workbooks, and toolkits that they can use to study, question, and better understand the history, context, and impact of racism on individuals and society.
