Lancaster Theological Seminary and YWCA Lancaster present Racial Justice Institute Part 2. The institute is an intensive three-day (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily) workshop that gives participants a common understanding of racism, and a foundation for beginning to dismantle the institutional and systemic racism that pervades the institutions and organizations in our lives. The cost is $300 per person.
Please note: attending Racial Justice Institute Part I, or a similar program, is a prerequisite for Racial Justice Institute Part 2.
Racial Justice Institute Part 2 takes place Wednesday, July 18 though Friday, July 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day at Lancaster Theological Seminary.
Participants will be equipped with a better understanding of the separate experiences, work, and responsibilities of People of Color or White People. They will be introduced to a fundamental antiracist, multicultural, organizational/institutional analysis model and leave the institute with a tangible plan of action for themselves and/or their “change team.”
Continental breakfast, refreshments, snacks, and lunch will be provided as participants work through journals, workbooks, and toolkits that they can use to study, question, and better understand the history, context, and impact of racism on individuals and society.
The Racial Justice Institute is led by cultural bridges to justice, a national consortium of highly effective trainers. jona olsson, Achebe Betty Powell and Sandra Ewell have delivered the Institute to the Lancaster community for more than 20 years.
