Marianne is an ordained Elder in the Baltimore Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the State of Maryland, and a Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. She is also a graduate of the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation where she was trained as a spiritual director.
Marianne served as pastor of churches in Carroll and Baltimore counties in Maryland for almost twenty years. She is currently appointed to the ministry of Pastoral Counseling and has a private counseling practice in Westminster, MD, known as Touchstone Counseling & Consultation, Inc. She works particularly with clergy clients, and also serves as a clinical supervisor with Pastoral Counseling graduates, and as a spiritual director. Her recent dissertation focused on the emotional and spiritual care of clergy, titled as "A Phenomenological Study of Spiritual Journey in the Lived Experience of Protestant Clergy." She lives in Hanover, PA with her husband, Chuck, and their cockapoos, Coco and Charlie.
In October 2014, Marianne will be involved in a workshop through Oasis Mininstries called "By the Secret Ladder, Disguised: Depression and the Dark Night of hte Soulin the Writings of John of the Cross".
