Deaconess Myka Kennedy Stephens joined our faculty in May 2014 and has a background in theological libraries as well as library and information ministries on local church and denominational levels.
Myka received her B.A. in English with minors in religious studies and music from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. She received a Master of Divinity from Emory University in Atlanta, GA and a Master of Science in Library and Information Studies from Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. She is also an active member of the American Theological Library Association and the American Library Association.
Called to ministry as a theological librarian, Myka is a deaconess of The United Methodist Church. She is an experienced writer and editor with additional skills in web design, graphic design, social media, and digital archiving. Her hobbies include crochet, knitting, handspinning, sewing, gardening, cooking, birding, and photography. She is mother of two children and married to Darryl W. Stephens, author and Director of United Methodist Studies.
