Aug. 26 Convocation Honors Nathan Baxter and Julia O'Brien
The Lancaster Theological Seminary celebrates the start of our 198th Academic Year at Convocation on Friday, August 26, 2022, at 4 o’clock in the afternoon, in person in Santee Chapel and streamed online on the Lancaster Seminary YouTube channel https://tinyurl.com/LTS-YouTube.
The Rt. Rev. Dr. Nathan D. Baxter (MDiv 1976, DMin 1984), will deliver the convocation address, “Being Doers of the Word: Identity, Institution and Integrity in Ministry.” Dr. Baxter will be honored for his extraordinary contributions to Lancaster Seminary including his many years as an esteemed adjunct faculty member. Dr. Baxter retired in June.
In addition, the Seminary will honor Dr. Julia M. O’Brien who has achieved 25 years as a member of the faculty. She is the Paul L. and Grace H. Stern Chair in Old Testament Studies, Professor of Hebrew Bible / Old Testament, and Director of the Master of Arts in Ministry & Leadership program.
