199th Commencement will be May 4, 2024

Lancaster Theological Seminary will hold its 199th Commencement on Saturday, May 4, 2024. The graduate school of theology will award a total of 16 degrees: 10 Master of Divinity degrees, four Doctor of Ministry degrees, one Master of Arts in Ministry and Leadership degree and one Master of Arts (Religion).
Commencement day will begin at 8 a.m. with a Baccalaureate Worship Service in Santee Chapel on the Lancaster Seminary campus, at the corner of West James Street and College Avenue in Lancaster. Delivering the Baccalaureate sermon will be Dr. Anne T. Thayer, the Paul and Minnie Diefenderfer Professor of Mercersburg and Ecumenical Theology, professor of Church History, and director of the Doctor of Ministry Program.
The Commencement Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Apostles United Church of Christ, 1850 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster. The ceremony will be live-streamed on the seminary’s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/LancasterSeminary.
Dr. Julia M. O’Brien, the Paul H. and Grace L. Stern Chair in Old Testament Studies and professor of Hebrew Bible/Old Testament, will deliver the commencement address, “Sustenance for Change” (Exodus 16:11-18; 31-35).
