Lancaster Theological Seminary awarded 28 advanced academic degrees and one Certificate in Lay Leadership at the 189th Commencement on May 17, 2014. The Class of 2014 included 19 Master of Divinity recipients; 5 Master of Arts in Religion recipients, and 4 received the Seminary’s highest degree, Doctor of Ministry. One student received a Certificate of Lay Leadership.
The day began at 8 a.m. with a Baccalaureate Worship Service in Santee Chapel and moved to Church of the Apostles UCC for the 11 a.m. Commencement Service. Lancaster Seminary alumnus The Right Reverend Nathan Baxter, who will retire this month as bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Central Pennsylvania, delivered the Commencement address entitled "The Impossible Vocation Revisited."
