The Rev. David M. Mellott, PhD, is stepping down as Dean and Vice President for Academic Affairs to become President of Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis effective July 1.
Mellott was named the 14th dean of Lancaster Seminary in 2011. He joined Lancaster Seminary in 2005 as associate director of continuing education and became director of ministerial formation in 2006. For more information about Dean Mellott’s contributions to Lancaster Seminary, click here.
Lancaster Theological Seminary President Carol E. Lytch said, “We give thanks to God for the blessing of sharing the journey with Dean David Mellott and we send him off with our love and prayers for his future service in Christ’s mission.”
She said that a consultant will be engaged to direct the search to find a leader with the vision and experience to continue to advance Lancaster Seminary’s excellence in theological teaching, formation, and scholarship. Dr. Anne T. Thayer, Professor of Church History, is serving as acting dean.
