March 11 at 1:00 pm, nationally recognized Biblical scholar, author, and minister Dr. Renita J. Weems presents a free, public lecture in Lancaster Seminary's Santee Chapel. Dr. Weems, American Baptist College academic vice president and academic dean, appears as part of Lancaster Seminary's co-sponsorship of the Womern of Color in Ministry Mentorship Project.
Dr. Weems also will take part in an invitation-only daylong consultation exploring the mentorship needs of women of color in ministry in preparation for a national mentorship program. The lecture and consultation are funded by Lilly Endowment, and co-sponsored by Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lancaster and Spelman College, Atlanta. Co-hosts include Carol Lytch, president of Lancaster Theological Seminary; Lisa Rhodes, Dean of the Chapel of Spelman College and Director of Sisters Center for Wisdom; Serene Jones, president of Union Theological Seminary; and Martha Simmons, president and founder of the African American Pulpit, Inc.
