Meet Rev. Dr. Darryl Stephens

Welcome to our new Director of United Methodist Studies. Darryl has a PhD in Christian Ethics from Emory University, where he was a faculty member at Candler School of Theology. He is an ordained deacon of the Texas Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church (UMC), former Assistant General Secretary for Advocacy and Sexual Ethics at the General Commission on the Status and Role of Women in the UMC, and co-editor of Professional Sexual Ethics: A Holistic Ministry Approach.

Darryl has authored a number of articles for church and academic audiences on ethics and ministry. He currently is an adjunct professor at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and is completing a book manuscript on the United Methodist Social Principles.
