New Mask Mandate in Effect
August 5, 2021
In an attempt to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and the Delta variant, Lancaster Theological Seminary now requires that everyone wear a face mask when inside buildings on campus. The new mask mandate follows the new masking guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control that everyone, regardless of vaccination status, should wear a mask indoors in public settings in communities where there is a high rate of COVID-19 virus transmission. Lancaster County’s level of community transmission is now “substantial.” And a result, masks must be worn at all times indoors on campus.
In addition to improvements made to the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and air filtration systems, campus buildings will undergo regular electrostatic disinfection. Read more here.
In announcing the new mask mandate, Associate Dean the Rev. Dr. Vanessa Lovelace said, “We look forward to being together in person during this new academic year. We will continue to act according to CDC and state health guidelines in order to help keep our community protected from spreading the virus. We’re relying on everyone to follow the guidelines to be COVID-19 safe.”
