Rev. Traci Blackmon to speak at graduation

Lancaster Theological Seminary's 193rd Commencement on Saturday, May 5, 2018 will feature Rev. Dr. Traci D. Blackmon who will deliver the commencement address.

Rev. Blackmon is Executive Minister of Justice & Local Ministries for The United Church of Christ in Cleveland and serves as Senior Pastor of Christ the King United Church of Christ, Florissant, Missouri.

She is a prominent community leader, a gifted preacher, and a much-loved pastor and teacher. She rose to national prominence for her leadership in the aftermath of the killing of Michael Brown, Jr., in Ferguson, Missouri.

Among her many awards, she is the recipient of the White House President's Volunteer Service Award (during the Obama administration), the Rosa Parks Award from the NAACP, and the 2017 St. Louis Person of the Year for bearing witness and confronting hate and ignorance during last fall's demonstrations in Charlottesville.

Lancaster Theological Seminary's graduation ceremony will take place at Church of the Apostles, 1850 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA., at 11:00 a.m. on May 5.
