Trustee Leads State Civil Rights Committee

Lancaster Seminary Trustee Patricia Hopson-Shelton has been appointed chair of the Pennsylvania advisory committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, leading a group of 14 state Commission members who review civil rights issues and issue reports and recommendations. Committee members are volunteers who serve four-year terms. 

Hopson-Shelton was elected to the Lancaster Seminary Board of Trustees in 2014. A human relations and higher education professional, she heads PHS Associates & Consulting. She was chief diversity officer and assistant to the president for social equity at Millersville University before retiring in 2010. She also serves on Lancaster city's Commission to Combat Poverty in addition to other civic activities.
